I loved the pattern made by this security grille against a door. Definitely vertical!
Whereas this amused me greatly. The ladder was heavily painted over in white against part of the "Ocean Countess" cruise liner, with strict instructions not to use it.
What was it there for, then?

The grille looks ornate. Still trying to work out what the ladder is for.
Incidentally in my experience the rain at Bergen falls vertically!
Definitely vertical grille with nice shadowing. Perhaps the ladder was an historical artefact!
