ON THE WATER

Big stretches of water, on a perfect summer's day, are very inviting for those who like sailing around in small ships or boats, or for those who love swimming around actually in the water.

This one looks the sort of boat for "just messing about in!

And small harbours can provide interesting reflections. Both those shots were taken at Cobh, Ireland.

I'm not really one for getting ON the water in small boats ~

least of all these!

But the above could put most people off - even in a bigger ship! This is taken from our cabin window somewhere north of Scotland. I am a good sailor, but its when everyone around you is......

Well, I leave it to your imagination!

Go HERE to see the scintillating shots of others on the water!

That shot of all the matching wooden boats is really nice! Good job.

All of these are perfect- the wooden boats always a plus, but I also find the view out of the window priceless!

I'm not a boat lover either unless I am on dry land. Lovely photos, Gilly.

The reflections on the water are incredible in those first 2 photographs. Like you, the small boats look a little tippy to me and I hope to never be seasick again!

Fantastic boat shots!
And that last one - I am a good sailor, but just imagine what that would do to some people's stomachs :(

Wonderful!

P.S. I love getting in small boats. On the other hand, there was that time our dad took me and my brother fishing in the Marshes of Glynn, and the engine broke down, and the tide was dragging us out...

That is some seriously angry water! Yeesh, that would be enough to keep me on land. Kudos for having the courage to be out there! I love this series. The boats just get me!
