Spotted in the big Barcelona Market. I think those funny looking things on the right are octopus, with their tentacles folded in. The left ones might be some sort of Dover sole. The ones at the back are perfectly normal and tasty sardines!
Something strange in the crustacean line in Bergen market!
Swordfish at Madeira. We tried them once and were not impressed!
Up close cauliflower - quite cloud-like!
Artisan bread looks quite hard and rocky up close
And Savoy Cabbage looks really odd and uneatable. But it isn't really!

I love the snowy cauliflower and that photo of savoy cabbage must be awfully close, I had to look up a photo to see from what part that photo was taken! Very clever. And I am with you, octopus or pulpo is about the strangest. Why would anyone want to eat that??
Oh yes, great captures, and it is amazing how so many foods unfamiliar to us appear like other things! Too funny!
I particularly like your close-ups. I couldn't place the savoy cabbage until you said what it was.
Cauliflower I trust. All others, I have to taste in small bits first!

Great photos Gilly! Have you ever seen romanesco cauliflower ? It's light green and pointed, looks so strange and tastes wonderful!
