HUGE

Carmi's Challenge this week is Huge

If its Huge, its got to be this! Our cruise ship, the Grand Princess, took 2,500 passengers, and was an awful long way from front to back (or should I say bow to stern?) In Stavanger Harbour, it just dwarfed the houses and made them look like a toy town!

Huge doesn't have to be absolutely enormous. Its a question of comparison. this man looked as if it was rather hard going on his instrument!

VACATION

Carmi's Challenge this week is "Vacation"

This was taken when we visited Tromso, in Norway. I loved the reflection of the old buildings in the water of the harbour.

Tromso is the most northerly city in Europe, well above the Arctic Circle, and has a University, and one of the most "spread out" cities I have ever seen! Built on dozens of islands, there are bridges all over the place! The Polar Museum was fascinating.

It is a very friendly, welcoming city, and we enjoyed our visit there.

PARALLEL

Carmi's Thematic Challenge this week is Parallel.

The snowy picture was taken on new Year's Eve last year, when the snow brought everyone who owned anything approaching a sledge out to the hill in the Park.

The snow was soon trampled and sledged on, and I was early enough to find some tracks on virgin snow, and managed to keep the dog out of the way while I took the photo!

VERTICAL

Carmi's Thematic Challenge this week is VERTTICAL

I loved the pattern made by this security grille against a door. Definitely vertical!

Whereas this amused me greatly. The ladder was heavily painted over in white against part of the "Ocean Countess" cruise liner, with strict instructions not to use it.

What was it there for, then?
