SILHOUETTE

Carmi's Challenge this week is SILHOUETTE

This was taken when two crows, who terrorise the neighbourhood, just happened to perch on a birch tree at the end of our garden. it was against a grey, but bright sky, so they came out exactly as I wanted, as silhouettes. It is not a black and white photo, I assure you - you can just see some colour in the birch leaves.

Just lately the crows have taken to sitting on the very topmost twig of our sycamore tree, which is HUGE - I suppose they have a good birds' eye view of the gardens and park from there and are ready to jump on any undefended fledgling. Or even the defended ones, In fact just yesterday I saw a crow attack a large woodpigeon, which got away, albeit without one or two feathers!

I am not fond of crows!

Birds make for fascinating silhouettes. Now if I can just get Alfred Hitchcock out of my head...

Very nice indeed. :)

Looking at their beaks leads me to believe they are rooks - an even bigger nuisance than crows in our village.

Oh my, oh my how I see the making of "The Raven" like never before, captured by Gilly, and very sweetly too!

Cool birds. I wonder what they were looking at?

Wow! I love how they're in total lockstep with each other. I cringe at what they do to others, but I'm guessing that's how the circle of life is supposed to work.

I can almost hear them in this shot!

New theme's up...it's a little different, which I'm hoping makes it that much more fun!
